Time travelling sensation continues in the saga and the more Claire moves in time the more complex the reality appears for her. All she wanted was a peaceful life and she got a mess of troubles in response. She fights back but with a heavy heart all the time because she loses and sacrifices things and relations that mean everything to her.

Moreover it is up to her the fate of everybody’s future lie because has altered more than one time line in previous parts like Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber and now she has to put the pieces together in the correct pattern. Luckily she is blessed with the company of Jamie Fraser that is a luxury for her provided by Diana Gabaldon otherwise she would have appeared as a dull and tragic lady. Husband and wife this time aid King George III who faces severe attacks of the American colonies.

Though they know that they cannot stop the war at any rate still they try to save lives and Jamie has firm belief on the prediction of his wife which now seems to him more of a curse. As the two decide to live through it all a piece of newspaper changes Claire’s approach towards the war, she starts taking interest. In the piece of newspaper from the future was written something about Jamie’s death during the war.

Thus the whole issue of the states becomes personal for the outlander who cannot lose all the fun and pleasure in her life at this stage when she has already sacrificed enough. For Diana Gabaldon’s main heroine it is time for another leap in time, wonderfully narrated once again by Davina Porter the novel steals the show for sure.
