The premise is standard science fiction: aliens attack human colonies, humans fight back. There is not much plot, and what exists has been mixed up. Much has happened for an unknown reason – everything other than the main plot is a supplement that leads nowhere, and military tactics mean nothing. Important details are often not brought out in a timely manner, possibly because the author is staging the story as he moves on. The finale was ridiculously ridiculous, and devoid of any drama because it went exactly as planned.
