Audiobook 2021 – Stardust By Neil Gaiman

The story takes place in rural England where a village is surrounded by a huge wall and the name of the village is also “Wall”. No one goes out of the village as there is only one opening in the wall which leads out of the village.

The villagers love this protective layer around them and they are self-sufficient in everything. Getting anything from the outside world is just a waste of time for them. Among these villagers, there are two lovers just like those the audience observed in The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Both love each other and decide to marry but Victoria puts forward a difficult task for her lover. She asks Tristran to bring the star for her which they see together falling from the sky.

Tristran without a second thought in mind just aims for the target and sneaks through the only space present in the wall. He goes to the outside world and confronts all sorts of troubles which he was not familiar with in the past. On reaching the fallen star the hero observes that the star is not what he expected from far away.

Strange kind of things which we observed in Good Omens appeared in this book too but with grave seriousness. Love and passion are tested on many levels and it looks quite tough for Tristran to reenter the Wall after getting out of it and finding a lot of pleasure in the outside world.

The novel is pure fiction along with some love scenes which are there to bring the audience back into the real world after a tour to a fictional world.
