The tide is going against the settlers in the Revolutionary War. Elizabeth decided to take things into her own hands when her parents disdainfully drag her along to different events and welcome a British combatant in their home. It was the time during their occupation of NYC.

She firmly believed that as a young woman no one around her could realize the insightful repercussions of being a nation in combat. She was invisible effectively and she could use this ability to her advantage. Her access to the British society took her for a role with the own web of spies of General George Washington. That network of spies was known as the Culper Ring.

The novel is quite interesting. It is fictional but based on a true event related to a woman spy operating in the revolutionary War. The performance of Emily Rankin was quite outstanding. The book combines some great adventure, espionage, and romance. It share this little known story of a spy who risked her own life for the sake of freedom.
