Avatar The Last Airbender The Shadow Of Kyoshi / Chronicles of the Avatar, Book 2, The Kyoshi Novels, Book 2, Audiobook Online By: F. C. YeeMichael Dante DiMartino

Epic, can’t-miss sequel to the New York Times bestseller Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Rise of Kyoshi.

Kyoshi’s position as the true Avatar was finally cemented – but at a heavy cost. With her mentors gone, Kyoshi journeys across the Four Nations, fighting to keep the peace. But while her fame grows, a mysterious threat emerges from the Spirit World. To stop it, Kyoshi, Rangi and their reluctant allies must join forces before the Four Nations are irretrievably destroyed.

This thrilling sequel continues Kyoshi’s journey from a humble girl to a ruthless pursuer of justice still feared and admired centuries after becoming the Avatar.

Shadow follows in Rise’s footsteps as another “read the whole second half in one sitting” page turner. The book offers a wonderful glimpse into life within the Fire Nation during its pre-dynastic period, a perspective that is almost completely absent from the Avatar universe to date, and is well worth a read. only at this world – building level. Kyoshi’s struggle to complete the new Avatar’s milestones brings back memories of Aang and Korra without a sense of repetition. As in Rise, Shadow pleases ATLA’s now grown-up original fans by taking on the darker, more mature Avatar universe without any gratification.

Kyoshi’s shadow. I really hope that at some point, they add a third book to this series to round it out a bit better. I felt like this book moved very quickly, with everything spanned in such a short time. Like the first book in this series, my only complaint is that I’d like more details and clarifications instead of a brief mention. As with anything in the Avatar series, I enjoyed this book. I hope we get to dig deeper into this series and these characters in the future, whether in this series or another, but overall, this second book at least settles the conflict. Surviving from the first book.
