The Evening and the Morning is the introductory installment of The Kingsbridge Novels. It is narrated by John Lee and the performance was quite impressive to say the least.

It was the end of the Dark Ages in 997 CE, when England was up against Welsh’s attacks on the west side and the Vikings from the east. The powerful people of the time would bend justice at their will. They would do that regardless of the ordinary people and sometimes in conflict with the king as well. Chaos was reigning in the place with no definite rule of law. Three characters in these turbulent and testing times found their lives intertwined. Their story would take you on a journey into a historical past that is full of rivalry and ambition. It was also about death and birth along with love and hate as well.

The Evening and the Morning is a very richly narrated complex story from a talented storyteller. Follett was at his best in creating the ancient era and his fans are surely amused. The narration from John Lee makes this audiobook even more exciting and you would love to listen it on a loop.
