Asher and Dixie have been in love since they were very young, and when Dixie was in high school, Asher finally decided to make her move. Sadly, this book is set 4 years after they first met and Asher broke her heart 3 years earlier, all due to a misunderstanding.

This book begins with Asher returning to town for the summer to help out on her family’s farm, only to discover her little brother, Steel (his name is LOVE) has moved in. live with his girl. This causes a lot of tension between the brothers and the youngest Dallas, who likes to stir it all up and sit back.

For Dixie, Asher will always be the love of her life and will never have the closure she needed when he had just left her. While she was interested in Steel, he would never compare Asher to her and it was heartbreaking to read her POV and how confused she was. But once all the secrets Asher thought he knew were revealed, the whole motives of the book change as a weight has finally been lifted from them.
