The book is about Kate since she lives alone on a farm in Alaska with her dog and she knows how to take care of herself. In “Breakup”, it’s late winter and early spring when all the snow starts to melt and the area turns gray. It makes travel difficult and people get tired of being in the cold winter. However, Kate, is trying to complete her taxes and pay taxes to the people on time. The work she wanted to get done didn’t get done because of other circumstances beyond her control.

Throughout this book, Kate is chased by a bear, lost her transportation, shot dead by a hostile family and, of course, encountered a corpse in an old mining town. town. Of course, Kate was supposed to not participate in the investigation of the woman found at the mine, but Kate couldn’t be ignored.
