Compelling Reason is a good book by author C. S. Lewis.
For C. S. Lewis, reason and logic were the logical way to approach faith and morality. Much of the evils of the 20th century were caused by unfounded beliefs and opinions.
Lewis’ original approach remains important to this day. He can capture the most complex subject, turn it aside and shine bright light on it. To be able to see things vertically rather than at them – like a beam of sunlight invading the darkness of a tool shed – is, for Lewis, the way to understand.
From 1940 to 1962, this collection of essays best represents Lewis’ considerable wisdom on the major ethical and theological concerns of today.
