Empire of Gold (Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase, Book 7) – Audiobook Online
“Empire of Gold” is an action-packed novel by Andy McDermott. The book tells the story of archeologist Nina Wilde and her husband, former SAS soldier Eddie Chase, as they embark on a dangerous mission to find a lost city of gold in South America. Their journey takes them through treacherous landscapes, and they must navigate through a variety of challenges, including rival treasure hunters and hostile indigenous people. Along the way, they uncover clues that lead them closer to the lost city and the treasure they seek. However, as they get closer to their goal, they realize that they are not the only ones searching for the lost city of gold. A dangerous organization known as the Covenant of Genesis is also after the treasure, and they will stop at nothing to find it. As Nina and Eddie race to find the lost city before the Covenant of Genesis, they discover that the treasure they seek is not just gold, but something far more precious. The book culminates in a thrilling showdown as both sides battle it out to claim the treasure and the power that it holds.

Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase possess extraordinary pieces of an ancient puzzle that led them from Singapore to the jungles of South America. Inside the storm of political and drug wars, Nina is drawing closer to one of history’s greatest secrets: the legendary golden city of El Dorado. As one discovery reveals another, Nina realizes that a legendary Inca leader made a deal with his Spanish captors – and forever concealed the real El Dorado. Now, Nina and Eddie must face a maze of deadly traps and betrayals, including one that touches on Eddie’s past in Afghanistan, even into his own family in England. Behind a waterfall in Peru is an unfounded wonder of the world. And to get there, Nina and Eddie may have to sacrifice everything: their friends, their love for each other, even their lives.
The story is really well done, I really like the ending. My only complaint is the narrator and the way he portrays Nina’s voice. It just sounds very masculine and not even close to a female voice. Overall it’s very enjoyable, like I said I don’t like Nina’s voice in this book.
The next adventures of Nina and Eddie Chase, some of the more endearing characters conjure up this genre of adventure fiction. These are more relatable and likable characters than any character in a James Rollins or Matthew Reilley book, in my opinion, and I’ve read the whole series except for “Excalibur” and its “sequel.” Almost finished this book, I’m only rating it one star because “Atlantis” part one and “Covenant of Genesis” are the more impressive books.” Pyramid of Doom” is pretty much like the Hercules and Hindu antiquities movies, but this movie has a lot of action and is an effective cure for boredom! Indiana Jones on steroids, great if you like a good adventure with a bit of humour, these should be the movies but oh, they’re better!
