Crime takes over in this new thriller along with which John Grisham has launched a new series with a wide range of crimes involved. First crime that Camino Island paints is of a manuscript that gets stolen in an odd way. 

No trace is left by the criminal who has taken the manuscript and the issue is that never before was such an attempt made against the manuscript. Several questions rises to the surface, first one is that perhaps bidding is made in the underworld for this manuscript.

 There could also be a chance that this crime is just a diversion to hide the main crime that is in process still. Lastly there is a chance that F. Scott Fitzgerald manuscript was linked to something big. In all these confusions a new detective is hired to get to the bottom of all this before it is too late. John Grisham always scatters the clues in between the chapters and each chapter has folded messages for the listeners to observe where the story is moving. 

Thus listening to the book in the voice of January LaVoy is like dealing with the scattered pieces of a puzzle that are being arranged one piece at a time. Toward the climax the pieces join together and the real picture comes before us that was behind the whole crime from the beginning.

Camino Winds is the second part of the series but before this a regular listener should go through The Reckoning to understand the true quality of the author. John Grisham’s each novel is superb to listen to but there are some that lack some energy or thrill at the climax.
