(Free Online Audiobook) East of Eden By John Steinbeck
East of Eden is a literature & fiction classic from the archives, which is ready with immense enthusiasm even by the millennials. It was published way back in 1952 in the print version and got converted to audio format later on. The response in the audio format by the audience was superb as they just loved every bit of it. Those who have already gone through its print version several times were also in awe of this novel. They believe that the novel in the audiobook is a kind of recreation. This became highly enjoyable due to the soulful performance given by Richard Poe as its narrator. The audio version was released in 2011, which is after 59 years of its print publication date. The novel has definitely come a long way.
The book is written by John Steinbeck who is one of the most celebrated writers of his time and he is still remembered today for his brilliant work. Of Mice and Men and The Grapes of Wrath are rated among the best novels from the author.
You will find this novel to be quite sprawling and at times, brutal as well. It is set in the Salinas Valley of California and in its rich farmlands. The tale follows the close-knitted destinies of two distinct families, who were the families of the Hamiltons and the Trasks. Their generation reenacted helplessly the fall of Adam and Eve and also touched base with the poisonous and terrible rivalry of Abel and Cain.
Those who have read this novel later in their life regret why they haven’t done it earlier as it was always there in the archives. The book is brilliant, enjoyable and able to stand the test of times.
