Review 1: Still Me audiobook by Lia
Beautful Emotional Story
I should have known that I was going to ugly cry while listening to Still Me since this makes the 6th Jojo Moyes book that I’ve listened too, and I’ve never been able to read one of her books without being an emotional mess! Moyes is so wonderful at tugging on her reader’s heartstrings, and no character does it better than lovely, sweet Louisa Clark!
Lou is back for a 3rd time in Still Me, and I for one was thrilled to listen about a character who I had grown to love so much in the first two books. I was also glad to reconnect with past characters, like her family (her parents always make me laugh) and the Traynors, that I’ve grown to love too! I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole series.
Moyes writing, as usual, is superb and she brilliantly shows us the scenery of NYC, the parties, the crowded streets, and more. She is an author who makes me laugh and cry, and I did so much of both with Still Me since Moyes always seems to get Lou in the wildest situations! Moyes has definitely become an auto-buy author for me. I just finished The Giver Of Stars which, was also a 5 star listen for me so I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
I love Lou, I truly do, and I hated saying goodbye to her, but I felt that Moyes gave her a happy ending, on her own terms which is all that I’ve ever wanted her to have. It was an utter joy to spend time with Lou one more time…Highly, highly recommended!
Anna Acton was wonderful in her delivery of the story
Review 2: Still Me audiobook by Jo Fergus
I enjoyed this much more than the 2nd book
This was a great dip back into Louisa Clark’s life. After You was the story of what happened to her immediately after losing Will and at the end she realised that she hadn’t gone through with what she promised him.
This story takes Lou on a life changing trip across the sea to New York city. With the help of her friend Nathan, she ends up working for a wealthy family which is a huge eye opener for her. A life of wealth and opulence can affect people in many different ways and Louisa sees both sides of the coin – so to speak.
She also struggles with the long distance between her and Sam the ambulance man. While she struggles to juggle everything going on in her life she meets a handsome American stranger called Josh. There is just something about him that draws her attention and it’s nice to have a friend she can count on.
Just when Louisa thought she had life figured out she comes to the startling revelation that she has never felt so alone. However, a surprising, unlikely friendship leads her in a new direction. Will this British girl find what she has been looking for in New York city or does her heart remain in England.
I enjoyed this much more than the second book, I saw more of the Louisa I came to know and love in Me Before You. Wonderful read.
Review 3: Still Me audiobook by Neha
This is the Louisa I was waiting after Will’s death.. discovering herself.. using her full “potential” as Will said.. This is the book which you just can not put away.. you have to find what happens next. It shows how Lou has evolved since last we saw her in After You. That Lou was mourning over Will’s death and not doing anything else. When there is an entry of Josh and details about how he looked same like Will, I was skeptical. William Traynor has left his “stamp” on Lou and no one could replace him. There are some point in this book where Lou’s stint at Gopniks have stretched far too much. Though it supported the real plot, but I think if we could have got some of her struggles with new business then her success was more enjoyable than reading letters. Will’s letters made me sad though.. Something about it makes me want to read Me before you again..
To be honest, this is the better version of Louisa than After you! Loved it!
