Cleo Coyle astounds the reader with her ability to sustain the conspiracy events happening in and around the upscale Manhattan cafe. She’s perfected her characters as Clare Cosi, the manager and amateur henchman – Mike Quinn, the area cop and Clare’s new love interest – and of course, the comedic ex-husband, Matt. Drawn alongside other familiar and good characters, such as the Café Landlord, Matt’s mother, and Clare’s ex-husband, she brings an element of class and prestige to the storyline.

We also enjoyed reading about Joy, daughter of Clare and Matt, who in this book is an internship for a chef position. Amazingly, her youthful antics simultaneously add anger and joy to Clare’s motherhood. French Pressed revolves around her daughter Joy, and the crime and pursuit of a murderer have greatly affected Joy.
