This time the twelve years old run for her life as she appears to be the next on the list, to her good fortune Dan Torrance also has pledged to save her at any cost. It can be termed as a war between good and evil like the one we see in Mr. Mercedes: A Novel only this time the things are more supernatural and the legends are more historical. 

The girl Abra Stone is presented as a girl with a gift, a shinning power that has never been seen before and once she gets into the enemy hands it would be destruction everywhere. Dan finally comes out of the shackles not only to save her but to stop the evil forces as well that want o control the earth once again. Will Patton manage well with the rise and fall of emotion that could be seen throughout the novel, the narration is no doubt up to the best standards that is possible.
