In Shining Armor is the fourth literary fiction book in the Pax Arcana series by author Elliott James.

Someone kidnapped the last surviving descendant of the Grandmaster of the Knights Templar, which is bad news. When the baby was the key to the fragile alliance between the numerous werewolves and the knights, it was even worse news. They fought each other before they even started looking for little Constance.
She’s also the goddaughter of John Charming, the modern-day descendant of a long line of famous dragon-slayers, witch-seekers, and miscreants. John may not have any parenting experience, but someone is about to find out that he can be a mean mom.

I am a huge fan of Elliott James’ writing. The fluid dialogue, supernatural characters, and high-octane combat in his stories are delightful. So far not a single novel or short story has disappointed. The characters are not stereotyped or like in some series. They grow, learn and you can also learn some of the stories behind. Just enough to be curious.

In Shining Armor continuing where the previous novel had skipped and saying that this latest adventure is fast-paced is an understatement. Turbo recovery same as it.

As for the narration, it’s hard to pin down what makes this narrator more interesting to hear from others, but IMHO, Roger Wayne fits perfectly into John Charming’s dry satire and sarcasm. His time was amazing, added one commentary, that made me laugh out loud more than once.
