In the Ruins/ Roadtrip Z, Book 2 – Audiobook Online

In the Ruins is the second literary fiction book in the Roadtrip Z series by author Lilith Saintcrow.
Ginny Mills is a librarian with a mission. She is determined to be with her family. Even the swarming, infected horde of undead could not stop her.

Lee Quartine has dedicated her life to working and making a living. He knows how to survive, but now he has Ginny and a small group of survivors to take care of.

Survivors are showing up in the strangest of places. And Ginny and Lee haven’t even crossed the state line.

That brings me to In The Ruins, which also ends before the end. It seems to be a rather recent and disturbing trend as the authors not only use the first book to set the stage for many more books, but a “cliff” ending seems to be the prey. There are opinions to make the reader buy the next book. That’s a pretty bad way for influencers to treat an existing audience that buys a book with that author’s name on the cover – even if the subject matter of the story is often shunned by the reader. I bought the next book, read it to the end, and at least got mad – mostly at myself, for letting go of my good powers to stay away from zombie fiction.
