The case is complicated by Eve’s personal history with the victim – and by the killer’s history with Roarke. As danger approaches and the number of bodies grows, Eve must find a way to stop the cycle of violence and revenge, and return the past to where it belongs.

Eve Dallas, Peabody, and the group go to one of Roarke’s alien resorts for a police meeting, and Eve finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. The investigation becomes personal when the commander attributes the murder to Roarke. This short story cover brings a lot of history to both Eve and Roarke. Their childhood history and the pain and sadness associated with it.
This is a delightfully quick mystery that doesn’t keep the reader wondering for too long who is the bad guy. It’s fast paced and action-packed pages keep the story flowing and intrigue high.
