Irish Eyes/ Callahan Garrity Mystery, Book 8 – Auidobook Online

Irish Eyes is the eighth literary fiction book in the Callahan Garrity series by author Mary Kay Andrews.
Callahan Garrity is the owner of House Mouse, a cleaning service that specializes in cleaning for Atlanta’s elite. She is a former police officer and a part-time detective. She and her team of dedicated helpers can rummage through a house for clues faster than a fingerprint can set it up.

When Callahan Garrity was caught in a pub on her way home from a Saint Paddy’s Day party, one of her best friends was shot. Callahan and her House Mouse cleaning team plunge into the investigation – only to discover that her old friend may have worked both sides of the law as accomplices in a string of robberies. They will use every trick to break through the veil of secrecy surrounding an Irish police organization and prove that the case is more than anyone thinks.

The 8th novel in her Callahan Garrity series and is currently marketed under her pseudonym. Again, this book delivers on what I expected from Andrews, but it also has a serious side.

Callahan Garrity is an Atlanta native and former police officer who lives with her mother. While not running a cleaning company with her mother called The House Mouse, she works overtime as a private investigator. Bucky Deavers, ask Garrity to accompany him to St. Patty’s Day party. He wanted to introduce her to his fiancée. The organizer of the event, The Shamrock Society, is comprised of Irish-American police officers.

When his fiancée didn’t show up and Deavers became too drunk, Garrity insisted that Deavers drive her home. But while stopping at a local liquor store, Deavers stumbled upon a robbery and was shot twice. While things don’t go well for her former partner, Garrity begins her own investigation when she hears rumors that the Deavers are dirty.

In fact, local rumors are spreading alleging that many policemen are dirty and that they are robbing ATMs when businessmen are sending money nightly. Of course, Garrity needs the help of her local “cleaning girls,” two of whom have had AARP cards for decades, as well as former police officers and acquaintances.
