Kew Gardens is a literary fiction book by author Virginia Woolf.

“Kew Gardens” is a short story set in London’s botanical garden of the same name on a hot July day. The story consists of brief, evocative photographs of four groups of people as they pass by a flower bed.

Virginia Woolf’s art gathers in this small but profoundly moving observation of the life cycle. A garden in July becomes a canvas for Woolf to paint a haunting new picture of her complex perspective. The flowers look like giant stained-glass windows from the vantage point of a snail passing through a flower bed.
