Killing Grounds/ Kate Shugak, Book 8 – Audiobook Online

Killing Grounds is the eighth mystery novel in the Kate Shugak series by author Dana Stabenow.
It was fishing season, and Kate Shugak was working with Old Sam on the fishing boat Freya when the dead Cal Meany surfaced. He is a promiscuous, strike-breaker and the abusive father ensures that there are several suspects, multiple motives, and most likely more than one killer. Kate investigates murders, her aunts mend nets, run an illegal fish farm, and impart cultural knowledge to Jack and son Johnny. Kate finds herself in grave danger, as even her aunts are on the list of suspects.

Dana Stabenow’s Kate Shugak series is one that from the very first series you’ll want to see more. As always, I encourage readers to get the full list and start with the first part, “A Cold Day for Murder.” I think you’ll be hooked from the very first chapter and it’s not just because Kate is an Aleutian woman living in Alaska with a half-wolf named Mutt as her companion. Which brings me to another main character – Alaska. I spent more time on Google Earth, flipping through maps, and tracking Iditarod than I ever expected.

Now, 60 years later, I’m rereading “The Call of the Wild”.
Kate’s story and her life in an Alaskan park where she was the perfect “crime solver” now includes 20 books, and like many of her followers, I’m eagerly waiting. next part. If you are a lover of mystery and many people are starting to seem “old”, the Kate Shugak series will be the perfect solution.
