The little novel stars Silvio Sanchez, Gin Blanco’s vampire assistant, as he goes on a date that turns out to be more deadly than romantic.
Working for Gin Blanco (aka Spider-Man, the assassin who runs the underworld of Ashland) doesn’t have much time for romance. When Gin’s holiday party plans are in full swing. When he caught the eye of an attractive gentleman, Silvio found himself drinking coffee.

All is fair in love and war. As Silvio begins to enjoy himself, he realizes he is being watched. His nice guy date doesn’t feel dangerous. Silvio wanted to keep it that way and Silvio ended the date early – only to be kidnapped by some vicious giants. Will Silvio survive the night and make it back to the Heo Pit in time for Gin’s holiday party?

This is a great novel, even if it’s a bit sad. I’ve liked Silvio since he was introduced. He really is the perfect assistant for Gin. We finally get to see him really solving the problem on his own and he’s a pro. I love that he doesn’t let his emotions get in the way of getting things done, even when his heart is broken.

This also brings a lot of fun to the holidays, even with corpses. I love seeing Gin get into the holiday spirit with a party, even if her decorating ideas are unique. Also, Sophia’s outfits are great and I love that we get to see her goth outfits all the time!
