No Offense: A Novel – Audiobook Online
No Offense: A Novel – Audiobook Online, Little Bridge Island, Book 2 by Meg Cabot.
Welcome to Little Bridge, one of the smallest, prettiest islands in the Florida Keys, home to white-sand beaches, salt-lined margarines, and stunning sunsets – a place where nothing falls. sights and love always have a way of sneaking when you come. At least expect….
A broken engagement only gives Molly Montgomery more motivation to pursue her dream job from the Colorado Rockies to the Florida Keys. Now, as head of children’s services at Little Bridge Island Public Library, Molly hopes the messiest thing in her life will be her notepad covered desk. But fate – in the form of an infant left in the toilet – had other ideas. The same goes for the police chief who came to investigate the “abandonment” case.
When John Hartwell folds all his six-foot-three people into a small chair and insists that anyone abandoning the baby is a criminal, Molly begs to differ and asks what he is doing about the The Island’s true crime wave (if the thefts from unlocked homes can be so called). Not the best start, but the man’s arrogance was almost as distracting as his blue eyes. Most of….
John would be quite upset if one of his deputies had a messy desk like Molly’s. Good thing she doesn’t work for him, considering how attracted he is to her. Molly’s librarian voice makes even the most salacious remarks sweeter, which is bad as long as she’s a witness but can be good once the case is solved – as long as That he hasn’t worried her yet. Newly divorced, John has difficulty adjusting to the single life as well as the role of a single parent. But there’s something about Molly’s pretty smile that makes John hope that his old life in Little Bridge might unexpectedly offer a new promise – just so long as they can overcome their differences.
Meg Cabot can’t seem to get her political views out of her novels. For this reason, I had to stop listening. It was exhausting to constantly dodge them in hopes of enjoying her simple story.
Better than the last one and the next one in the series. Liked the main character being a young librarian and the story geared towards adults. Keep them coming, Meg!
