Omerta A Novel By: Mario Puzo – Audiobook Online
Omerta is a literary fiction book by author Mario Puzo.
For Don Raymonde Aprile’s children, he was a loyal member of the family, the “adopted grandchild” of their father. To the FBI, he was a man who would rather ride a horse than do the Mob business. No one knows why Aprile, the last great American, adopted Astorre Viola many years ago in Sicily; No one doubts how carefully he trained him… and how, while his children tricked him into claiming a respectable career in America, Astorre Viola waited for his moment. arrive.
That time has come. The donkey is dead, his murder a bloody act in a play of ambition and deception – from the deadly compromises made by an FBI agent to the greed of two NYPD detectives. winding and terrifying plans of a South American Mob boss. In the clash between enemies and lovers, traitors and loyal soldiers, Astorre Viola will assert her destiny. Because after all these years, this moment is in his blood….
The story is as pleasant as Astorre’s smile. One can appreciate Puzo’s balance of good and evil in each role. Set in New York, but in the constant longing of olives, lemons and the sea of Sicily, beautiful! To me, however, the story becomes meaningless, barely responding to the hype of a great setting – leaving a wish that the great author was alive to write a short story.
