Stolen Songbird is a science fiction fantasy novel. It is the first installment in The Malediction Trilogy. The author of this brilliant novel and series is Danielle L. Jensen. He is an expert when it comes to delivering top-notch science fiction novels. A couple of good examples of his abilities are novels like Dark Shores and Hidden Huntress.

The narration of this novel is done by the duo of Eric Michael Summerer and Erin Moon. Their performance did full justice to the strong writing of this novel and what is required in audio form.

A curse of the witch has guaranteed the trolls to their city that was just beneath the Forsaken Mountain ruins. This continued to happen for five long centuries. The time was good enough for their dark magic to finally fade away from the memories of humans and find a place in myths only. But, sooner a prophecy has come with the stronghold to set free the trolls.

When Cecile de Troyes is abducted and deployed right next to the mountain, she learned something new. She discovered that there is a lot more attached to the myth associated with the trolls than she could have ever imagined. Cecile only had one important thing going on her mind after she was taken next to Trollus. It was about escaping from there. Only the trolls are believed to be fast, clever, and extremely strong. She needs everything possible to bide her time and then wait for the perfect opportunity.

The book is great but the story was dragged a bit. Full marks to the character development of this novel and also the performers.
