Orphan Train A Novel – Audiobook Online

Orphan Train is a literary fiction book by author Christina Baker Kline.
The Orphan Train is a powerful novel about volatility and resilience, about unexpected friendships, and about the secrets we carry that keep us from figuring out who we are.

Penobscot Indian Molly Ayer is about to “age” out of the foster care system. A community service position helping an elderly woman clean the house was the only thing that kept Molly out of her teens and worse….

While helping Vivian organize her belongings and memories, Molly learns that she and Vivian are not as different as they seem. An Irish immigrant orphaned in New York City, Vivian is put on a train to the Midwest along with hundreds of other children whose fates will be decided by luck and chance. Molly discovers that she has the power to help Vivian find the answers to the mysteries that have haunted her all her life – answers that will eventually set them free.

This story is very real. The only reason why I didn’t give it five stars is because some of the authors are incredibly talented at making you feel scared and tense in the face of a scary and abusive scene without being too animated about it. . This has a scene that isn’t ‘excessive’ graphically – but still more than is needed to get the point across. When I really like a good book, I often look for more of that author. I won’t be looking for any books by Christina Baker Kline.
