Petal Plucker/ Flower Shop Sisters, Book 1 – Audiobook Online
Petal Plucker is the first love story in the Flower Shop Sisters series by author Iris Morland.
Confession: I, Dandelion “Dani” Wright, am 26 years old and still unmarried. No man has hosed my hyacinth, fondled my freesia, or tricked my daffodils.
My apologies? I was too busy running the family flower shop and winning flower design contests.
Suddenly all that annoying virginity became a big deal when Jacob West came into my life. He’s the guy I fell in love with – the guy who once humiliated me by standing up for me at the prom.
This Jacob isn’t a boy: he’s all a man now – so confident, seductive and sexy that my metaphorical flowers are burning. I can almost forget that I must hate him forever…almost.
He’s my main competitor now, ever since he took over his parents’ flower shop. If I give in to this hot attraction between us, it could jeopardize everything I’ve worked so hard to achieve.
He may not just be the first man to pluck my petals – he may also be the only man to win my heart.
This author conquered me when I discovered her book titles were taken from classical songs. Whenever I read her books, I know I’ll get a lighthearted, fun romance with a bit of steam, but Morland presented herself phenomenally with her first book. in The Flower Shop Sisters series! In addition to the puns, euphemisms, and allusions, this book is MUCH MORE. I’m a little bit into the heavily used virginity game, but Morland fed me out of her hand with Dani and Jacob’s arch-enemies in a nod to lovers’ romance. with Capulets and Montagues.
Since first moving to town when they were five years old, Jacob West has exceeded Dandelion Wright’s limits. His parents had the guts to come to town and open a florist to compete directly with her family’s Buds and Blooms. Despite the warnings, they became friends in kindergarten. As the years went by, they didn’t always get along well, but when he did the unforgivable and defended her at the prom, Dani learned an important lesson: people will always let you down. But now Jacob is back home, and all the old feelings are starting to spring up like dandelions in the spring.
