After writing two novels about Hercule Poirot in 1920 and 1923, her editor asked Christie to write a number of Poirot short stories for issue in Sketch in 1923 and 1924. Eleven stories later. was published as a volume in the UK in 1924. The fourteen stories were serialized in the US and then published as a book in 1925. This publication includes all fourteen stories, though in a different order. However, Hercule Poirot and Captain Hastings were firmly established with these short stories.

Christie’s writing skills are appreciated in these detective short films, helping Poirot gain a lot of acceptance, leaving Christie ultimately disappointed as fans have been expecting the sequels so long after. when she was tired of creating Poirot sequels.

Christie’s fans will find here the origins of many of the BBC’s popular Poirot series. Those familiar with TV series will find these stories to be inspirations for TV productions but with shorter, more focused plots. However, Christie’s charm shines through with her clever and signature mystery plot, delighting multi-generational audiences.
