Poison – 87th Precinct, Book 39/ Audiobook Online Free

Poison is a mystery novel by author Ed McBain.
Her former lovers died one after another and the beautiful Marilyn Hollis was the prime suspect. Detective Smitten Willis tries to believe her innocence, until he begins to wait.

Marilyn Hollis is gorgeous and financially independent, she says, thanks to her wealthy father in Texas. When a man she is dating is poisoned to death, Detective Steve Carella and his associates from Division 87 come to see Miss Hollis. She was sorry to hear the news, but informed detectives that the victim was just one of the men she dated. She is very open-minded and free-spirited and expects the same attitude from her friends.

As almost always happens early on in these books, the detectives feel confused. They snoop in the victim’s life but can’t find anyone who might want to harm him. Then the second man in Marilyn Hollis’ life ended at the same time as the third. Sensing a pattern here, the detectives focused on Miss Hollis and those around her, looking for the culprit.

In particular, Detective Hal Willis took notice of the lovely Miss Hollis and before long, in violation of what we hoped would be department regulations and certainly in violation of common sense, Willis moved in with her. even though she’s a suspect in a case. investigation is ongoing. Willis insists that Marilyn is the innocent victim in all of this and cannot be guilty of anything. Steve Carella wasn’t so sure, but Willis didn’t seem to be rational in this regard.

This is another good entry in the 87th Area series and it’s been interesting to watch it all play out. Fans of the series will definitely want to seek it out.
