Present over Perfect is a good book by author Shauna Niequist.
New York Times bestseller.
Shauna Niequist invites you to look into the context of your own life, consider what it’s like to let go of the pressure to be perfect, and start a life-changing practice of simply being in the middle. of the clutter and mediocrity of life.
A few years ago, Shauna found herself exhausted and isolated, mentally and physically sick. She was tired from being tired and exhausted from being busy. It seems almost everyone she talks to is in the same boat: Longing for connection, meaning, and depth, yet feeling busy.
She decided to trade the hustle and bustle for grace, love, stillness and fun, and that changed everything. Shauna offers an honest account of what led her to embark on this journey and a fascinating vision of a whole new way of life: Immerse yourself in rest, silence, simplicity, prayer and Connect with the people who matter most to us.
As you witness Shauna’s journey, you will be inspired to embark on your own journey. She gives you the encouragement you need to:
End the trend to please everyone
Embrace moments of simplicity, tranquility and stillness
Accept that you are worthy of love, belonging and joy
Written in Shauna’s warm and vulnerable style, this collection of essays focuses on the most important transition in her life, and possibly yours: Leaving behind busyness and luxury and rediscover who you were made to be. Present Over Perfect is a hand outstretched, freeing you from the constant pressure to perform faster, work harder, and produce more while maintaining an exhaustingly perfect image.
This book follows a current theme that bloggers trying to write books often turn into extremely long blog posts that seem to get lost in themselves. Another reviewer commented that it was like a diary only bound into a book, and I think that is correct. The book Manders and drag on and many parts left me baffled by the good reviews.
I had a hard time relating much of what was said, including a Senior School that had a house on the beach and it was just a rough life just because the author felt like having a life. difficult life. It’s clear that almost anything the author struggles with can be dismissed unlike my own life or, I guess, the lives of many other readers.
I have to wonder if most of the good reviews are simply that people who were fans on the blog and read the book knew what they were going to get. I’ve tried to finish the book, parts of Simple seem lengthy with unnecessary descriptions. And part of the author even talked about how difficult it was for them to finish the book.
