Talking about the latter is indeed a piece of BLEEP. As for him having the courage to ask Callie for help after what he did to her is ridiculous. Her reaction to him and her so-called friend is appropriate.

Ross is Campbell’s youngest brother and deputy. One rainy night, he stopped to help a person whose tire burst and trapped her. Turns out it was Callie, a girl he had a crush on at school. She was wearing a wedding dress and was soaking wet. He took her to church, where she learned that her groom had left because she was late. He is a control freak and is teaching her a lesson. Callie found her embarrassed but not heartbroken. She got back in the car with Ross and he drove her home. A friendship is born and sparks begin to fly between them. Add a corrupt sheriff and a drug lord trying to kill Ross and you have the ingredients for a brilliant story.
