Rough Justice is the 15th mystery novel in the Sean Dillon series by author Jack Higgins.
Sent by the president to report on the troubled Kosovo situation, his trusted agent, Blake Johnson, comes across a soldier there named Harry Miller, who has the same duties as the British prime minister. They banded together just in time to stop a Russian officer from burning a mosque – or rather, Miller stopped him with a bullet to the forehead.
This action will have significant consequences, not only for Miller and Johnson, and their associates, including Britain’s Sean Dillon, but for so many, all the way down to the very top. governments of the United States, Great Britain and Russia.

Death begets death, and revenge only leads to revenge, and before the chain reaction of events is realized, from Kosovo to London to Beirut to Ireland to Moscow, there will be plenty of both.

I’ve been reading this series recently and although I like them and like the characters despite their flaws (or maybe it’s their fault) I find that reading them one after the other they tend to blend together and sometimes I think Jack Higgins is releasing a really good book or two, several chapters at a time. The same descriptions of different clothes and bars appear with monotonous frequency and even some villains are present in some trot books. Maybe I just need to read something else in between some of them!! For all that, they’re good yarns and I’ve always liked them.

Jack Higgins and his Hero Sean Dillon are at their best. As always, Higgins puts enough information about his characters in each book that you can pick up any Sean Dillon story without reading the previous stories. There are also references to Sean’s previous prison escapes, so you should read them in order, for me, you’ll be explaining the stories and adventures before that. I highly recommend this series.
