T-Nail will stop at nothing to kill Jack for putting him in jail with a 20-year sentence and crippling him. Gathering his gang and other colors to help, he formed an army to kill Jack & Phin. Luckily, NcGlade’s top vacation getaway is a veritable fortress for war. Meanwhile, McGlade & Herb team up to help them by taking a road trip to crime. A meth-addicted parrot, gun-wielding thugs, and help from old friends bring a full circle to Jack’s aid. Fast & funny and a little over the top but that’s to be expected when McGlade is on the case.

This is the 9th book in the Jack Daniels series.

Jack Daniels is retired and her daughter is on vacation away from the city she once protected. As Jack and her family enjoy a vacation in the woods of northern Wisconsin, an old piece of advice comes back to haunt her and interrupt her vacation, but he doesn’t come alone. Far away in the woods, with no cell phone, no support, Jack must rely on her wits and skills as a former police officer to stay alive and keep her children safe.

J.A. Konrath writes very well. Every story he writes draws you in, you feel like you’re there and getting to know each character. Each character is well rounded, the stories full and in-depth. Give him a chance and he will entice you too.
