I’ve loved all the Dark Kings novels and loved all but one. This episode with Darius and Sophie is filled with love, longing, fear about the future and past, and as usual, loyalty and the need to protect loved ones. The war between Dark Fae, Ulrick and his uncle is fast approaching. There are spilled secrets, as well as blood.
Rhi and Balladyn show up and things seem to be changing for them both…..but are they really? I love the intensity of the loyalty of the Dragon Kings, but we have always seen their insecurities as well as their strengths. Another great book in the series that I will read until the author can’t write another one. I hope that day never comes.

Darius and Sophie have a quick and steamy relationship that begins when he goes to the hospital to ask for help with Lexi. After that, they meet constantly and try to hide their growing feelings. Ulrik pushed them together and made them admit their feelings.

I like Sophie. She is very career oriented and a dedicated healer. I also like her friend Claire very much. Darius is the strong silent type that has been asleep for years. He denied his affections, like most Kings do, for as long as possible. I love that he comes out of the depression he’s kept for thousands of years.

Rhi is getting better and letting go but will this be a good thing or a bad thing? I can’t wait to see what happens next.
