Sniper Elite: One Way Trip is a thriller, war story, and adventure fiction authored by Scott McEwen and Thomas Koloniar. It is the first installment in the Sniper Elite series. Brian Hutchison has a pleasant voice as the narrator of this book. He still needs a bit more work on the different voices of the characters. The pacing is also a bit off. Overall, the positives vastly outweigh the negatives.

This is the story of America’s most elite snipers who leads the charge to rescue a downed female Special Ops pilot. The President doesn’t know how to reply to a video showing the brutal treatment of the Taliban as they capture the female pilot. He is afraid that a lousy rescue operation will further destabilize his presidency and foreign policy. However, when the Special Ops community learns of what is happening to one of their own, no executive order can stop them from trying to rescue her.

In direct defiance of the President, Gil Shannon launches a rescue mission with the support of government officials and elite soldiers. A breathtaking battle ensues as the sniper fights in the battle of his life for the freedom of his comrade.

The story always remains interesting and never seems to drag on. It is very fast-paced and something keeps on happening. It keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. There is quite a lot of violence depicted in the book, so be warned. It is about the adventures of a navy seal sniper so that is to be expected.
