Spider’s Trap By: Jennifer Estep – Free Online

Spider’s Trap is the 13th love story in the Elemental Assassin series by  Jennifer Estep.
Keep your friends close but your enemies within stabbing distance.

One lesson I’ve learned in the important assassination job is that to be the best, you have to roll with the punches. I’m the queen of Ashland’s underworld – by default, not by choice – lots of punches are coming down on me. But I suppose that’s the price of victory when it comes to taking down some of the underworld’s top dogs. Good thing I have Ice and Rock spells to help me survive my tumultuous new position. When I thought things were finally settling down, someone tried to kill me during a secret meeting of the underworld. But the real surprise was that my shadow attacker seemed strangely familiar.

My job is to maintain order among murderers, crooks, and thieves, and soon I am drawn into a bloody game where the ability to keep secrets can be a great superpower. best of all. My enemies have sharpened their knives and set traps, waiting for me to fall. But this Spider weaves its own deadly web.

I absolutely love this series. My husband and I have been addicted since book 1. This book did not let us down! This book is amazing!!! I don’t want to go into too much detail and reveal anything, but the summary is a nice touch to make sure readers remember what just happened in the previous book. This book definitely contained a few plot twists and made us beg for the next book! Unlike some series, this series keeps getting better and better. It paints a fuller picture and now, more than ever, you can see how Gin has lived up to this point, and how that has made her who she is today. I love it! I can literally picture this going on in my head as I read (like a movie), which, to me, is the hallmark of a well-written book. It captivates you from the start and before you know it, you’re reading the last few pages, which give you little tidbits of what’s to come in the next book… this really makes you look forward to the next installment in the series.

I don’t feel growth. I’m glad this isn’t another book about Gin’s stalker. That is getting old.

I’m tired of Gin being hurt all the time and needing outside help with bad people. Crying and always thinking it was her fault also worried me. She is a bleeding heart to the killer faction trying to kill her.

I don’t know what I used to love about these books, but I don’t feel it anymore.
