A compelling premise and truly brilliant world-building—I know very little about Indian stories and culture, and this novel offers a fascinating glimpse into a new world. Literally! The normalcy of modern times contrasts with the glorious beauty of the starry realm. Vivid, lush language, believable characters and love stories that go in many directions. Not only is the teen romance finally bearing fruit, but there are also insights into parental love, friendships, and extended family relationships.

My only quibble is that the story seems to take a LONG time to get anywhere. I could feel the plot from the first few chapters, and there was a lot of teenage anger, guilt, and hesitation to get through. Could be a little more edited… But well worth the read and highly recommended.

Beautifully written and full of magic! Star Daughter hooked me from the start. This novel combines modern times with folklore in a perfect balance. The text calls the image to life. I can’t tell you how many times I drooled when I heard the description of this amazing dish. I love stories that do that! A great debut novel. Loved it!
