Stephen Hawking – Audiobook Online By: Leonard Mlodinow
This “vivid and engaging account” (The Wall Street Journal) not only opens up the inner workings of one of physics’ greatest minds, but also offers a glimpse into an extraordinary friendship. and human ability to overcome insurmountable challenges.
One of the most influential physicists of our time, Stephen Hawking has touched the lives of millions. Recalling nearly two decades as Hawking’s collaborator and friend, Leonard Mlodinow focuses on this complex man in a unique and poignant personal portrait. We meet the genius Hawking, who devoted himself to uncovering the mysteries of the universe – eventually formulating a ground-breaking theory of black holes, paving the way for cosmology and paving the way for other phenomena. Physicists investigate the origins of the universe in entirely new ways. We meet Hawking’s co-worker, a man with an illness that makes him only able to communicate at a rate of six words per minute but who makes every effort to end his conversations with humor, funny. And we meet our friend Hawking, who can convey volume with a frown, a smile or simply an eyebrow raise.
Mlodinow ushered us into the room as Hawking indulged in wine and curries; share your feelings about love, death and disability; and grapple with profound questions about philosophy and physics. Whether describing Hawking’s devotion to his job or demonstrating how he would make well-timed choices, such as sailing on the River Cam (despite the risks that playfulness poses), Or revolving around stories of Hawking defiantly peeing against the fence outside a restaurant without a wheelchair-accessible toilet, Mlodinow captures his indomitable spirit. This touching story of friendship gives us invaluable lessons from one of the greatest physicists about life, the universe, and the ability to overcome difficult obstacles.
Enjoyed the whole book which is said to provoke honestly sensitive. Everyone should read the book and, I believe, draw inspiration from it to achieve something worthwhile in their own lives.
This is a memoir written by a scientific friend of Stephen Hawking. I like this style of memoir because it can often give you more insight than a regular biography. I found the book well written. It’s fun and engaging and sometimes very funny. The author has also done a great job in making science understandable to those who have always struggled with Hawking’s theories.
