I came to these stories when I first read Homeland, so this is the fifth book I’ve read about Drizzt. However, it definitely feels like a second book. I don’t think that’s a bad thing though. I like how there is a lot of character development, especially in Cattie brie. That said, this book is also not short of fight scenes and excitement.
The only thing that annoys me is not talking about Drizzt’s infrared vision. This was mentioned a lot in the original series, but it wasn’t even mentioned in these books. I think Mr. Salvatore came up with the IR vision later when he wrote the original series to account for their vision in the constant darkness of darkness.
