Summoner 12 is the 12th science fiction book in the Summoner series by author Eric Vall.
The capital Umo Portana fell into the hands of the goddess Utuni.

Gryff will not let the rest of Utun fall into the hands of the serpent Archon.

The only problem is, Utuni’s blood aura makes her legion stronger with each monster slain, so Gryff and his party realize they’ll need a little help.

Gryff hopes to have a few Utun men join his career. He certainly doesn’t raise his own army.

But, with his own forces, Gryff was able to lay siege to the capital and capture Utuni once and for all.

After reading and completing this book, I love how I can think back and see how Gryff has grown and is now partnering with his goddesses. I love the dynamic love-hate irony between Phi and Gryff. The dynamic between Phi as a child and Serra as an adult sister really makes the difference between the two. Especially when they have a dialogue with Gryff, it’s one of my favorite parts. I even wonder if Untuni represents predator or Miralea represents prey.

Also, I love when Gryff gets a new monster and comes up with different ways to use it instead of just sending it off to battle like some pet. (And his fire needles could hiss and have some control over his sun giant, which didn’t happen.)

I can’t wait to see where the next book will take us because now he has two formidable forces fighting in his head. And what could the next goddesses represent!!!

Enjoy the journey with Gryff and his companions. I really enjoyed the story line and look forward to the next prison escapes. The only thing in the story that seems odd to me as the battles get bigger and bigger and they become hordes is that you would think they would find a few crystals in each battle, at least on grunts. Still, it’s fun to experience Gryff catching a new monster or stumbling across a strange monster crystal. Damn, if I were him, I’d take as many shots as possible. That should eliminate some of the double summons he has to do in some cases. Mr. Vall, I’m ready for book 13!
