Summoner 13 is the 13th science fiction book in the Summoner series by author Eric Vall.
Gryff eventually captured Miralea and Utuni, the two goddesses who ravaged the Southern Continent.
Or… at least that was the plan.

After an unexpected rift and a storm, Gryff finds himself stranded on an unknown island with friends nowhere to be seen.

But he encounters a warrior princess that transforms and gains awesome new powers, so things are definitely improving.

I love the Summoner series, but I have to admit that after dozens of books, we can say, pretty much the story repeats itself. A lot of credit to the author, but even the best imagination will run out of ideas on how to use a certain set of abilities (monster summoning).

But this book started things off very nicely. We started right where the previous book had left off, with a bunch of our familiar characters, but very quickly the MC was separated from the group (spoiler: for the rest of this book). This can be frustrating at first, but the author manages to keep us engaged with new characters, NEW Abilities, and new issues. New possibilities flow very logically from what we already know, which is a very good point. McGuffin doesn’t need sudden magic.

This installment in the series is a change from the usual adventures Gryff has. Eventually, he was separated from his companions, washed up on an island, and that’s when the expedition started to get interesting. Of course, Gryff finds a beautiful girl to spend time with and he can learn about some new cultures. It will be interesting to see where Eric Vall’s story goes next. I know I’m looking forward to book 14. This book will make you think about Gryff’s monsters from a new perspective. The question is whether Brayden and Layla can learn this new ability.
