Marion is the club’s star performer and his fans are numerous – if most underground.

When a young social site holding a picture of Marion started asking questions, Millie wondered if she was just another fan. But then her body was found crumpled in the yard, dead from an apparent fall from the club’s balcony, and all indications were that Marion was the killer. Millie knew she was innocent, but local detectives weren’t so easily convinced.

As she follows clues that lead to the cemetery and dead end, Millie’s attention is split between the pretty and grimacing Olive, a waitress at Cloak & Dagger, and Bennie, the glamorous smuggler offering to help. She solves the case. The clock is ticking for Marion to run away, but the truth about the killer may be closer than Millie thinks.

This kept me hooked all the way. Classic, Agatha Christie-style murder mystery with a rich and varied character base. Great book for preteen and up. Who doesn’t love a heroine kicking her ass? Looking forward to Kristin Lambert’s next book. I can see this as a mystery series.

I can’t wait to see what else comes from this debut author! Really skillful writing, diverse and interesting cast of characters and lots of LGBTQ representation’! Could this be a series please? I want to spend more time with my friends at Cloak and Dagger.
