He forms a tough alliance with Jack, who is preparing to face their old enemy.

Meanwhile, Dawn Pickering is searching for her presumed dead child. The road leads her to a mansion in a remote Long Island seaside town, where she discovers a horrifying truth she could never have imagined.

Now the stage is ready for Jack’s big attack on Rasalom. Jack knows he only had one shot. But it’s not just about taking down Rasalom; he must also get Dawn’s child back and minimize collateral damage. So he devised a perfect plan.

But fools are always with us.

Great and worth the money. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys fantasy, horror and a ridiculously smart and intelligent protagonist, a good guy who ends up being ferocious. I have read many good books by this author and am always impressed with his ability to instantly engage the reader with the story.

I love Christopher Price as the narrator. He nailed Jack, but even he can’t seem to deduce much hope as the story plunges straight into the (sometimes literal) abyss. The stakes are high and for the first time, Jack seems to be playing and discovers that he has been played too late. This is the most negative so far as the Other seems to be about to be determined to make the future a very dark place.
