The Dutch House (Full Audiobook) A Novel By Ann Patchett – Online Free

Childhood drama narrated by Tom Hanks might make some people cry who have lost something precious at an early age. Scars of the past are never cured, they remain deep not in the skin but in the memories and for some these turn into horrifying nightmares and for others they become a purpose to live.

Ann Patchett  lays the foundation of the story in the time of the Second World War when all sort of businesses were shattered to the ground. It was during these days that Cyril started his business from the ashes. Cyril invested even the little quarters that he had in his pocket in the business and luckily the business thrived though the world was facing economic depression.

After getting financial stability the new emerging tycoon bought the Dutch House for his wife and family as a token of his love. Sadly after the death of the parents their son and daughter were thrown out of the house by their step mother.

Life changed once again for Danny and Maeve who tasted poverty yet again in their lives. The two toiled hard for their future and restored it for sure but the impact of the loss was never gone, it remained in their minds all the time.

The Dutch House was not just a house, it was a token of love from their father and it was snatched away from them in such a way that they lost their innocent childhood along with it. Looking for more of such stuff just go and buy Commonwealth and Bel Canto and the feeling that is developed in this will continue further in those books. Ann’s books are always full of emotions and past family history that is deeply rooted in the plot of the story.
