Review 1: The Final Detail audiobook by Ted

Plot A Tad Wobbly But Still Fine

Jonathan Marosz stuns as usual… Pitch perfect but…

Harlan Coban’s writing, for the first time in this series, trips over his feet… While the writing crackles as usual and the ensemble cast moves me to laughs, smiles, frowns, and yeah… tears… I missed the fact that Esperanza’s (Little Pocahontas) is off stage through too much of this puzzle mystery.

Once again let me urge readers to start this series with the first of the Myron Bolitar mysteries since the characters grow and their relationships mature. Moreover it’s becoming more and more useful to understand the previous stories and their role in the characters’ development.

This time Myron’s involved with baseball BUT… do not let the sports-agent role of the lead character deter you… everything sports related you need to know is powerfully and memorably explained.

I recommend “The Final Detail” and I expect to soon listen to the next in this series. It’s just that there are some plot twists here that come to the very edge of the cliff named implausibility. In the past, Coban has avoided that drop-off. Or at least he’s expertly wafted sufficient fog to totally obscure its presence.

Still… read the earlier works in order and then… buy this, listen, and get ready for the next. It’s worth it.

Review 2: The Final Detail audiobook by Elisa

Just Brilliant

Any additional comments?

This was the first Myron Bolitar book I read. The narrator was excellent and it was this book that had me fall in love with Myron’s psychotic friend Win; of corse Myron was awesome as well. The action is swift and I wasn’t able to put the book down until I have reached the ending. The events takes unexpected turns and twists, which naturally makes the reader want more. I was expecting something like Stay Close as that was the first book by Coben I’ve read. However, despite having some things similar, the series non the less has its own style. I love this book especially also because of the humor of the characters.

Defiantly worth reading!

Review 3: The Final Detail audiobook by Wayne

Excellent suspense thriller

The plot of The Final Detail is more complex than necessary, but the novel kept me guessing until the end. In my view is is one of the weaker novels in the mostly 5 star Myron Bolitar series. Even so, it is an excellent novel. Narration is excellent.
