Abduction cases are the worst and it surpasses the murder cases in most of the scenarios. The relatives of the one who is abducted are never clear whether their loved one was killed after abduction or is still present out there. Even after decades the relatives cannot forget their loved ones and the scene after which they disappeared.Harriet Vanger a young girl vanished in thin air almost four decades ago and her case remains unsolved till the present day.

The detecting agencies have left it as a case with no ends that can be tracked. Harriet’s uncles had yet not lost hope and even though he believes that Harriet was murdered after abduction but he wants to know why and by whom.The local police have not proved of any help and thus all eyes are on Mikael Blomkvist, the one journalist who is committed to go to any limits for the final disposal of the case. Mikael has been able to solve many such cases because he has the help of a girl with special psychic powers i.e the girl with a tattoo.

Stieg Larsson’s mystery solving girl herself has some mysteries attached to her personal life but no such thing is described here. A female narrator would have been a good addition to the series; it’s still good that Simon Vance has not tried to change his voice.

Whoever wants to dig deep in the world of the tattooed girl than The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest are not a bad choice. Every story is based on a crime scene but that crime scene is usually not linked to a single person or place. A whole network of criminals is revealed in every case with roots deep buried in society.
