The Gun Ketch By Dewey Lambdin – Audiobook Online
The Gun Ketch is a historical fiction novel written by Dewey Lambdin and published in 1993. The book is part of the Alan Lewrie Naval Adventures series, which follows the life and career of Alan Lewrie, a British naval officer during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
The story takes place in 1786, when Lewrie is given command of the HMS Jester, a gun ketch tasked with patrolling the waters off the coast of England to prevent smuggling. However, Lewrie soon discovers that his mission is not as straightforward as it seems, as he becomes embroiled in a complex web of political intrigue and espionage.
As he navigates these dangerous waters, Lewrie must also contend with personal challenges, including his complicated relationships with women and his struggle to prove himself as a capable leader to his crew.
Overall, The Gun Ketch is a thrilling and well-researched novel that offers readers an immersive glimpse into the world of naval warfare and political intrigue during the late 18th century.

1788–Bahamian Squadron. . .
A fighter, rogue and a lady man, Alan Lewrie has done the unthinkable and trapped himself with a woman and a ship! That woman was lovely Caroline Chiswick. The ship is the ketchup ship, the Alacrity, bound to the Bahamas and a bloody game of cat and mouse with pirates plying the frenzied winds there. But while war came naturally to the young husband, politics did not. Undoubtedly a mighty Bahamian merchant behind the scourge of piracy, Lewrie flees the Royal Governor who holds the most precious hostage of all. . . .
From the windswept Carolinas to the exotic East Indies, Alan Lewrie fights and plays with all the wild abandon of the high seas. He is a true mighty naval hero in the age of great sailing ships.
This book was so good. I loved John Lee’s American accent, and his Bohemian accent as well. I loved the story in this one the best so far. A credit well spent.
