When winter arrives, Angus is forced to leave the island for work, Sarah feels isolated, and Kirstie (or Lydia?) grows more and more anxious. When a violent storm leaves Sarah and her daughter stranded, they are forced to come to terms with what really happened on that fateful day.

This is one of those books that you wish you hadn’t started reading because it’s on such a sad subject, but once you get started you just can’t put it down. It makes you see how a couple with children can fall into the trap of being manipulated by your child into believing things that aren’t true. As a mother, throughout the book, I think about how I would handle this or what I would do in that situation. It is a good book but know that it is a sad book.
