The Kingdom of Copper – Audiobook Online

The Kingdom of Copper is the second book in the Daevabad Trilogy written by S. A. Chakraborty. It is a fantasy novel that continues the story of Nahri, a young woman with magical abilities, as she navigates the complex political landscape of the magical city of Daevabad.

The story picks up five years after the events of the first book, The City of Brass, where Nahri discovered her true heritage as a half-human, half-djinn and was thrust into the world of the djinn. In The Kingdom of Copper, Nahri finds herself married to Muntadhir, the crown prince of Daevabad, and living in the opulent palace. However, her marriage is far from ideal, as Muntadhir’s family, the Qahtanis, despise her for her mixed blood and see her as a threat to their power.

As Nahri tries to navigate her new life as a member of the royal family, tensions between different factions within Daevabad continue to rise. The city is divided between the pureblood djinn, known as the Daeva, and the shafit, who are part-human and considered inferior. The conflict between these two groups forms a central theme in the book.

Meanwhile, Ali, Nahri’s former love interest and now exiled prince, is trying to find his place in the world outside Daevabad. He becomes involved with a group called the Tanzeem, who are fighting for equality and justice for all inhabitants of Daevabad. Ali’s journey takes him to different lands and introduces him to new allies and enemies.

As political tensions escalate, old secrets are revealed that threaten to tear apart the fragile peace in Daevabad. Nahri must navigate treacherous alliances and make difficult choices to protect herself and those she cares about. She also discovers more about her own powers and heritage, which play a crucial role in the fate of Daevabad.

The Kingdom of Copper is a richly detailed and intricately plotted novel that explores themes of identity, power, and the consequences of choices. It delves deeper into the complex world of Daevabad, introducing new characters and expanding on the existing ones. The book is filled with political intrigue, magical battles, and personal struggles as the characters grapple with their own desires and loyalties.
