I read this book for work and expected an overly academic slog, but the writing is accessible and the personal stories of the astronomers are fascinating and include a surprising number of encounters with wildlife.

Having been an observer for 35 years who loves sharing the sky on sidewalks and in parking lots, I got warm, tingly feelings from reading this book. I was familiar at some level with most of the material in this book. Each chapter was well worth reading. I enjoyed the whole book, especially the last two chapters. My heart-felt thanks to Ms. Lavesque and encourage her to please gift us with another book!
